Karen Barbee
Founder and Creative Director
Karen Barbee Adkisson, founder of Karavan Studio, began studying Belly Dance at the age of 10 and has since developed a teaching methodology based on technical precision, soulful innovation, and cultural respect. With degrees in Accounting and Computer Science, Karen’s analytical approach has shaped popular methods and curricula in Belly Dance.
A pioneer in online Middle Eastern dance instruction, she has taught and performed globally, including in Egypt and Lebanon. Since 2013, her passion project, "Project Band," has provided unique training with live Arab music.
