This is a fun, folkloric style Cymbal Dance Choreography, crafted and performed by John Compton and the Hahbi’Ru Dance Ensemble.  The group built a repertoire based on Middle Eastern Folkloric music, dances, songs, and customs. These traditional dances have been fused with modern day technique and performance skills thereby creating a style which is unique to Hahbi'Ru. 

The Cymbal Dance is fun performance piece as well as an excellent tool for learning to play zill patterns that accent the music while layering them over the steps, building the choreography. The Cymbal Dance will be performed to a shortened version of "Shashkin" on the Mystical Garden album by Ömer Faruk Tekbilek.

This Choreography will be performed at the End of the Session Showcase on March 27th, 2022.
